Purpose
Rectifiers V-OPE-TM are intended for cathodic protection of underground metal constructions against corrosion.
Features
Rectifiers V-OPE-TM-1 and V-OPE-TM-2 have the same schematic modification. The present variant of rectifier ensures its operation:
- as a self-sufficient product;
- in systems equipped with telemechanics sets.
Principle of operation
Principle of operation is based on pre-reducing of power line voltage by means of power transformer and rectifying of power line voltage by means of diode-thyristor rectifier. Output voltage is regulated by means of changing of thyristor enablement moment by phase control system.
Operating conditions
Rectifier ensures reliable and stable operation under the following climatic conditions:
- the upper value of ambient temperature + 45°C;
- the lower value of ambient temperature - 45°C;
- the upper value of relative humidity 98% at 25°C.
Rectifier V-OPE-TM-1, climatic Y version of distribution category 1, is designed to be mounted outdoors.
Rectifier V-OPE-TM-2, climatic Y version of distribution category 2, is designed to be installed in distributing devices for cathodic protection (UKZV, UKZN, MEHZV, MEHZN, MEHZT) and other indoor locations.

Joint operation of rectifiers V-OPE-TM-1(2) series B1 with telemechanics sets
Rectifier V-OPE-TM-1(2) series V ensures joint operation with the below-listed telemechanics sets (TM): “SupeRTU-4”, “UNK-TM”, “STN-3000”, “Magistral-1”, “Magistral-2”, “ELSI-2000”, “SCADA”, PTK “SKAT”, etc.
On request, rectifier V-OPE-TM-1(2) series V can be adjusted for joint operation with another TM sets.
Joint operation with telemechanics sets offers the following possibilities:
- remote measurement and changing of output current and output voltage of the rectifier;
- remote measurement and changing of protective potential;
- remote switching-off of the working rectifier and its switching-on with rectifier’s automatic returning to the latest operation mode;
- control of power consumption quantity;
- give the signal about switching on the rectifier into operation (“ON”), about emergency switching off the rectifier (“EMERGENCY”) and about unauthorized access into the rectifier (for V-OPE-TM-1 only).
Rectifier V-OPE-TM-1(2) series V contains signal transformation unit IZHSK.656116.019 that ensures galvanic isolation of thermoprobe, rectifier’s control and signalling from electric circuits of telemechanics unit.
Signal transformation unit ensures production and transmission of standard current signals (4-20) mA to telemechanics sets. The current signals allow measuring of the output parameters values (current and voltage) of the rectifier and protection potential value. The required protection potential is maintained by current signal (4-20) mA coming from telemechanics set to the rectifier.
Current signals going through measuring channels into telemechanics unit change in the range from 4 to 20 mA pro rata the change of:
- output current from 0 to 1,05Inom;
- output voltage of the rectifier from 0 to 1,04Unom, where 2Unom is doubled value of rated output voltage;
- protection potential from 0 to -3,5V.
It is possible to transfer the operation of the rectifier in the local mode to the remote operation mode by a dispatcher. If mode selection switch (“MODE”) on the control unit is set for “AUT”, the protection potential will be maintained, setting for “CURRENT” ensures stabilization of output current.
The operation of rectifier can be transferred into remote control mode by the toggle switch (“LOCAL/REMOTE”) which is located on the control unit.
In case of remote control open failure the rectifier that was set into remote control mode from dispatcher console or by toggle switch (“LOCAL/REMOTE”) transfers into local control mode with latest set operation mode.
