OXIDE IRON-TITANIC ANODE EARTH ROD OZHTZ-1
Purpose
Slightly soluble anode earth rod OZHTZ-1 is intended to be used as a slightly soluble element of depth and surface earth rods in system of cathodic protection of underground metal constructions against corrosion.
Operating conditions
Earth rod ensures reliable and stable operation in all microclimate regions under the following climatic conditions:
- the upper value of ambient temperature + 40°Ñ;
- the lower value of ambient temperature - 40°Ñ;
- the upper value of relative humidity 100% at 35°Ñ.
Category of distribution: 5, according to GOST 15150-69.

Construction
Depending on the number of anode plates, earth rods can have various connection schemes.
One-electrode earth rod consists of titanic plate (coated with magnetite by plasma spraying method) connected with the copper power lead.
Multi-electrode earth rod consists of several one-electrode earth rods connected by parallel power leads with the main lead. Nodes of connection are protected.
Delivery set
Delivery set includes an earth rod with a power lead.
By agreement with customer, earth rods can be delivered connected in chain with heavy-gauge main lead. Number of earth rods in chain and their step (distance between points of connection of leads with the main lead) is to be specified.
Certificate is enclosed to each consignment of earth rods.
Installation order
Earth rod is to be thoroughly examined before installation. Earth rod with the signs of spalling of magnetite coat and insulation failure of power lead is not subject to installation.
Vertical earth rods are erected into the holes with the diameter not less than 140 mm. Horizontal earth rods are set into the trenches of not less than 200 mm width for a depth lower than depth of ground freezing in the given region. Apply coke breeze filling while installing earth rods.
Points of connection of power leads and main leads with trunk cable and anode drainage wire are insulated by means of standard fittings (e.g. plastic terminal box) or sleeves filled with epoxy resin or other cable mastics.
Manufacturer’s guarantees
The manufacturer guarantees reliable operation of the earth rod OZHTZ-1 within 2.5 years from the date of commissioning under consumer’s observance of the conditions of mounting, transportation and storage. The guarantee covers the period not more than three years from the date of shipment to the consumer.
Service life of the earth rod is not less than 15 years.
The manufacturer undertakes an obligation of replacing the earth rod in case of its breakdown during guarantee period.
